Acceptance of terms

By using FTAnalyzer you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

About the service

FTAnalyzer is a free, open-source genealogy analysis tool. It allows you to upload a GEDCOM file and view statistics and analysis about the data it contains. The service is provided on an as-is basis, free of charge, for personal and non-commercial use.

Acceptable use

You may use FTAnalyzer to:

• Analyse GEDCOM files that you own or have permission to process
• Review statistics, data quality indicators, and family tree information
• Export or use the analysis results for personal genealogy research

You must not use FTAnalyzer to:

• Process GEDCOM files you do not have the right to use
• Attempt to access other users' sessions or data
• Deliberately disrupt or overload the service
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

Your responsibility for data

GEDCOM files often contain personal information about living or recently deceased individuals. You are responsible for ensuring that:

• You have the right to process the genealogy data in your GEDCOM file
• You comply with any applicable data protection laws in your country
• You have appropriate consent where required for processing information about living people
• If you enable tree storage, you have the right to store the genealogy data contained in your GEDCOM file on our server, and you have considered the privacy implications for any living individuals whose data may be included. Stored trees are automatically deleted after 30 days if not updated — this is a convenience cache, not archival storage

FTAnalyzer processes your data in memory during your session. Server-side storage is only used if you explicitly opt in — see our Privacy Policy for full details.

Intellectual property

FTAnalyzer is an open-source project. The name, logo, and software are the property of the FTAnalyzer project. Your genealogy data remains entirely your own — we claim no rights over any GEDCOM files or the data they contain.

Disclaimer of warranties

FTAnalyzer is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no representations or warranties regarding:

• The accuracy or completeness of analysis results
• Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service
• Fitness for any particular purpose

You should always verify important genealogical conclusions against primary sources. FTAnalyzer is a tool to assist your research, not a substitute for it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FTAnalyzer and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including any loss of data.

Server-side tree storage is a short-term convenience feature, not archival storage. Stored trees are automatically deleted after 30 days if not updated. We cannot be held responsible for any loss of stored data. Always keep a copy of your original GEDCOM file.

Service availability

We aim to keep FTAnalyzer available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
